The Super Bowl halftime show is going to Mars - as in Grammy winning R&B-pop star Bruno Mars. The singer put speculation to rest Sunday via Twitter after reports surfaced Saturday that he would headline the intermission extravaganza at next year's Super Bowl. Mars tweeted emphatically, "WE'RE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL!!!!" and followed with the hashtag #PepsiSBHalftime.
Mars' official Super Bowl announcement coincided with an NFL kickoff event Sunday in Times Square. The 27-year-old singer follows in the footsteps of Beyonce, who headlined this year's Super Bowl, Madonna, The Black Eyed Peas, The Who and Bruce Springsteen, who have also entertained at halftime in recent years. Next year's Super Bowl is set for February 2nd at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
