Washington -- Congresswoman Louise Slaughter, the only microbiolgist in Congress, is condemning the Food and Drug Administration's cautious approach to limits on antibiotics in animal feed.
She says regulators have known for decades that over-use of antibiotics creates drug-resistant germs that pose a danger to humans.
The latest FDA limits are only voluntary. Slaughter says she will continue to press for tougher standards.
Slaughter is trying to round up enough votes in Congress to pass manadatory limits.
