Fire hits Clifford Avenue apartment

The Red Cross is assisting a resident after a house fire on Clifford Avenue early this morning.

The Rochester Fire Department says it started in a second floor kitchen about 4:30 a.m. The person living in the apartment wasn’t home when the fire broke out and heavily damaged the place.

The first floor tenants were alerted by smoke detectors and got out safely.
